I agree that Lebanon is a distraction. But I am discouraged by how intractable the Iran problem seems to be.

They’re now charging a toll for tankers in the Strait of Hormuz. Mind you, they still appear to be only letting tankers carrying Iranian oil through.

Only single digits getting through. But at $2 million per tanker, they’ve got a new revenue stream.

It has become intravtable because of 47 years of appeasement & neglect. The Iraq war empowered Iran. Our failure to intervene in Syria empowered Iran. Our inaction on Hamas in Gaza & Hezbollah in Lebanon made Tehran stronger. Now we need joint action under US leadership to reopen Hormuz. This is the kind of enforcement action for which the UN Charter was written & NATO created. Allies need to stop playing partisan blame games & just do it — together.
